Houston We’ve Got A Problem And It’s Facebook
Recently I found at the Plentyoffish blogspot an article by Markus where he provides some brief information related to his website’s traffic statistics related to Facebook. he claims his pageviews per user has gone down 30% in the past two years and that when Facebook was down for an hour last week that his member traffic increased 15%.
Some people believe Facebook could be the death of free or paid dating sites but I’ll tell you one reason it’s going to be hard for Facebook to take everything over: People get bored. Although Facebook is really fun and full of features there is a time when a single person wants to hook up and connect with another single person and that’s what dating sites offer - something different.
I won’t argue that it is true that Facebook has indeed taken away traffic from many social type websites but in the end we’ll all sustain. There are also several Facebook dating apps. available but they don’t hinder the traffic of any particular website but only increase the traffic of the application owner. Of course it would be wise if you do own a dating site to create a dating application for Facebook. My question would be why not?
